Olga SHAKHOVSKAYA

Junior researcher

Scientific interests:

biochemistry, radiobiology, statistical processing and analysis of biomedical data

Education and Career:

Graduated from Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Biology Faculty, in 2017, with a qualification of Biologist/Educator of Biology and Chemistry.

Employed with IRB as a junior researcher since September 2017.

Since then, has contributed to a number of completed and ongoing research projects within the framework of the National R&D Programme “Environment and Natural Resources” and Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research (BRFFR), such as:

“The study of the effects of basidiomycete culture bioactive extracts on the liver function recovery and body metabolic processes in mammals exposed to technogenic factors (ionizing radiation, xenobiotics)”;

“The role of apoptosis in the ovaries and the multi-generational reproductive changes in Drosophila melanogaster exposed to permanent electromagnetic radiation (WiFi)”;

“Acquisition and examination of the radioprotective properties of certain inosine complexes and the study of their potential practical applications”;

“Develop the criteria for assessing radiation-induced changes of internal media tissues based on the analysis of the structure and mechanical properties of a cellular component using in vitro and in vivo models”

“The mechanisms of the implementation, regulation and correction of the stable and cancer human cell viability under UV exposure with the use of lichen extracts”.
