Background

Graduated in 2014 from Francisk Skorina Gomel State University, Faculty of Geology and Geography, with a qualification of a GeoEcologist. For her graduation thesis “The present state, preservation and future potential uses of Gomel-area water resources” was awarded a second-class honours diploma in XXI Republican Research Student Competition.

A junior researcher of Laboratory of Modelling and Minimization of Anthropogenic Risks since 2016. Same year, took an advanced training course in Radioecology, Radiometry and Radiation Safety, F. Skorina Gomel State University.

In 2019, completed her master’s course in Geoecology with a thesis on “Potential applications of free-floating hydrophytes in bioremediation of water bodies from heavy-metal ions”.

Contributed to the following research projects:

  • State Research Programme “Environment and Natural Resources”, work package 3 “Radiation and Natural Systems”, task 3.16.
  • Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research project “The role of abiotic factors in the variations of the morphofunctional activity of germinating barley seeds”.
  • IRB-LU (Sweden) cooperation research project “Assessments of radiation exposures in the areas contaminated as a result of the Chernobyl accident”.

Skills and experience:

  • radiochemical analysis of environmental samples (soil, water, biological samples) to determine the activities of transuranic elements 238,239,240Pu, 241Am;
  • radiochemical analysis of water and biological samples to determine the activities of natural radionuclides 210Pb, 210Po, 224,226,228Ra;
  • spectrophotometry.
